Moving on down the road Cedar House Rules
Nov 15

If you check out the photography link up above you may notice that it’s changed formats, I’ve switched over to a more easily updated Wordpress flickr album plugin offered at RandomByte. I still have a bit of CSS cleaning of the Falbum script as well as fixing a surprise break in IE. With each tiny addition to the nuts and bolts holding together my site that are added as my schedule allows I’m feeling rather hopeful that I’ll be able to soon add in the long delayed style switcher and to also release my first dashboard widget soon too.

So far I’m quite happy with the functionality that the plugin offers and am fairly pleased that the required upgrade of Wordpress was virtually painless considering the fact that I had rewritten a large number of the files and had a nice 20-30 minute cleanup to do. It really makes me thankful that some of my old zen coding masters hyped commenting so much. Hooray for utilizing proper organizational skills.

Now as far as the photography itself is concerned some of it is of the “off the cuff” style and is not up for artistic merit and some of it is of the “artiste’ mindset“. I’ll try and organize things a little more clearly in the future but for now focus on whichever style you prefer.

Adding in the FAlbum plugin meant getting rid of the Tan Tan Noodles plugin but I think keeping people on the site rather than going straight into Flickr will probably work out better in the long run.

Well now that I’ve blathered on a bit about the future plans of this niche of the web I think I’ll probably be better off stopping since many of the things I mentioned just a few days ago in another post. Drop me a line if you have any thoughts or comments on the layout or if you happen to notice anything functioning incorrectly.
